Ordinary Miracle II: Journey to the Dirk van De Broek

Deadlines, more papers to be reviewed, and ..hungry .. and walked gracefully to my fridge to grab some meals. Geee .. except veggie and milk, there is nothing that I can eat (instantly) , unless if I would like to cook (which is my least option today). Yupp, it had been almost a week, I didn’t go to shop my food rations. Means, Azizi, you have bring your fat and lazy @.$.$ to the shop, unless you’re on a hunger strike or something. (and I did not). So today's entry is all about a journey to the Dirk (not dick, or dirt) van Broek, my fav. shopping mall. Since it was a very sunny day (mat & minah salleh dah siap berjemur dah .. tutup apa yg patut ajaa .. ). Hey, I ‘m not the pervert here ~ just considering myself as a lucky guy who can view anything from his vicinity. (from my room, where I’m purposely doing my reviewing, reading … and etc shows a nice “picnic” party or something down there ~ facing a nice view and wide field). So, here we go (normally it will take me about 15-20 minutes to walk to the Dirk).

Left: Meet Auntie Rachel. Often meet her during the evening, feeding the wild ducks. Her house is nearby here. She did ask me to drop by for a cup of tea (which, i will next time)

Yeayy, .. finally, the Dirk (again not Dirt or Dick!) (actually it is just a small mall).

It took me almost an hour to buy things (cheese, fruits, buttermilk cake (it tastes good), juices ..etc). Finally, 21.71 euros ... (for a week stock). On the way back, i met Carrie when she was doing her garden ~ a nice garden. She thought that i'm the tourist here (yupp, not everyday you will see a crazy guy like me to snap some photos here and there .. in her neighborhood). Coincidently, she is a web-designer and out of nowhere she asked me, "so Azizi, you're doing those artificial intelligence stuffs?" .. Yeay .. it strikes the bull's eye. Means, we have more ideas to talk .. (and i'm hungry ..). Trying to be polite (maklum la lelaki melayu terakhir di bumi belanda), i've informed her that i got something to do for my work (yupp .. tight dead lines, since i have been assigned to review 3 conference papers by my supervisor), and she gave me her business card. She indeed invited me for a cup tea next time (again, i will). Wow .. a typical-weekly shopping routine has turned into something beautiful (and with possible a cup of tea).

So, your typical routine will be a great adventure, if you try to get connected to the surroundings. Life is not a script, it is a full blessed journey by God, dedicated to His servants, to be enjoyed. Well, ordinary miracle everyone.
