Everything Happens for a Reason

Salam and good day to all,

A couple of days back, i was having a difficulty with my well-being. Nothing serious, but probably the changing pattern in weather, as thing is getting colder as each day counted. Normally, when i was technically bed ridden (or a nice phrase of being lazy of doing nothing), i will spend more times to read (and read) and read ...... one of my hobbies. There is a book (as a gift for my birthday, on Oct 4th - it is indeed a very nice book, really love it), that was written by Allahyarham Sheikh Mustapha Shukor Al-Masrie (he was Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor's (our first Malaysian astronaut) younger brother).

Reaching for the stars

When i was reading between the lines, it captured me to the most typical cliche' in our life - a simple yet powerful line ~ "everything happens for a reason". Literally, each action has a reaction. Always remember that what is meant to be will always find a way to come about. In principle, i do agree with that. But, it is contrary to the popular belief, this “everything happens for a reason” line is a perfect example of something that people accept and distribute without even really understanding it, and not to mention rather to challenge it. When you really push someone to follow the logic and see where it takes them, it is usually end up at either;

The first one is the God's plan paves our life in mysterious ways,
with all hidden knowledge that we don’t always understand, ............

...... or the second one is, that nothing completely bad ever happens,
there is always something good to take from it.

Far cry for its true meanings, sometimes this “everything happens for a reason” has a higher degree of being nothing more than “every dark cloud has a sliver lining”. Yes, there is nothing wrong with pure hope, total belief, and optimism, since i believe in both, but trying to make sense of mishaps with blind and weak compromises sometimes deterring the efforts to surmount it - and ability to face the real naked truth. Rather than looking for a needle of hope in a haystack of misery and despair, it will be much better if we are able straight to face that bad things that happen to us as they are, and learn how to cope and feel the stronger for it.

Instead of trying to look for a thousand reasons why something bad might not be so bad after all, there is nothing wrong to accept that bad things happened, and we will do everything in our intellect to repair the damage. Everything happens for a reason - is a powerful line that eventually will give unbeaten strength to fly high again, but sometimes, one of the reasons itself is our fault, and ignorance. "you did not do your homework, and you skipped classes and you failed the exam" - the reason is simply real - laziness, it has nothing to do with falsely "blame" the "reason" .

There were many reasons why such a thing was happened. I reckon in many ways, the successes and downfalls that we experience have shaped who we are. I do believe, as a matter of fact, they are probably the most strong ones. And sometimes things happen to us at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but later in time then we realize that without facing those obstacles we would have never realized our real potential.... and by the way it happens for a reason why you are reading this blog :-)
