The Last Ten Days

Salam & Good day,

At the time of writing, while many of us are busying with their Eid preparation, but still many will feel despair for the near departure of Ramadhan. Personally, i do feel the same. Deep inside, i am hoping this Ramadhan will stay even better than the former. Yup, our definition of Ramadhan may varies from age to age, from culture to culture :-). When i was a kid, Ramadhan is nothing but more to "you can't eat, drink from dusk to dawn", and the end of Ramadhan will be cherished as having new "baju raya" and big fat "ang pows" thingy. But, at this age, Ramadhan means as my spiritual journeys, to be a better Muslim. Learning more what should be learnt, practicing more what should be practiced.

As for sure, the remaining days of Ramadhan is filled with many great things. It strikes us to the Night of Power, Laitul-Qadar. On this night, the single most important event in human history unfolded as, after the Holy Quran was preserved in the Protected Tablet, Gabriel a.s descended with the blessed book to reveal it, upon Allah’s command, to Rasulullah pbuh.

“and how would you know (the value of the) Night of Qadr” (Holy Qu'ran, 97:2).

So valuable is this Night of Qadr that the Quran devotes a special Surah to it “Lailatul Qadr is better than a thousand months” (Holy Qu'ran, 97:3). The most authentic account of the occurrence of the Night indicates that it can occur on any one of the last ten, odd numbered nights of Ramadan. The fact that the exact night is unknown reflects Allah’s will in keeping it hidden. My prayer is, hopefully we met (or will meet) this extraordinary night of all. Spare our time a bit, and grab this once-in-a-life time offer. Who knows, this will be our last Ramadhan?

By the way, a nice piece of music from Sami Yusof, "You came to me". It is free to download from his website http://www.samiyusufofficial.com/

Pakcik says: Be the Lailtul-Qadar hunter, it is our main task now ;-). Wishing you all the best throughout the remaining Ramadhan!
