The Blinking Light

Salam and good day to all,

• Happy with the progress? Having a problem or something?
  
• Are you trying to solve that equation? Good!.... keep on going!
• Oh my God, it is fantastic, you should publish this ....!
  
• Let see, probably we should collaborate to publish this paper - together.
• OK, i can see that, you are trapped somewhere the end of the tunnel, let see how ....
• Okay Azizi, our staff will replace your machine at soonest, can you give us at least a week to deliver that to you? (me: a week? i am expecting a month ...;-))
  

and many more. Perhaps i would rather to say those are some cliche' questions, praises, in our lab. Working with these energetic researchers are inspiring. Thumppppp, i was drifted to the place where i was used to be. Where all questions, praises were;

• Apa punya bahasa inggeris ni? Banyak "grammatical errors" , anak saya boleh buat lebih baik kalau macam ni!
  
• Buat apa nak buat penyelidikan susah2 ..... ala setakat nak sahkan jawatan aja. Lepas ni kita buat yang canggih sikit (dan kesudahan tak jadi2).
• Ala buat penyelidikan mcm tu, bukan org nak pakai pun? ...... buat susah2 pun penilaian sama aja. Buat apa peningkan kepala?
  
• Tu lah, asyik dok "research", buat paper, apa dapat ? .......tengok aku ni ..bla bla ..?
  
• Awak kena ikut kod etika pakaian, pasal apa pakai sandal dalam pejabat? (walaupun sekadar nak ke surau)
• Pakai la yg jenama sikit, tak malu kat pelajar ke?
  
• Nak tau tak, saya tak suka dgn si A tu .... dia guna projek pelajar dia .. bla bla bla ...
  
• Maaf, unit kami sibuk, kalau nak juga, tunggu dalam 2-3 minggu. (dan unit itu mmg selalu sibuk walau staff mereka selalu ada masa utk chatting)
  

Just a couple of trivial examples, hmmm..... that i used to listen. (not all the time, but always, ..... unless if i met some "exciting people with right attitudes") (psstt .....; by the way, i am not trying to be too judgmental here, just expressing my experiences). Seeing those kinds of different mentalities we have (had), i have a simple doubt, especially on how things should not be, how on earth we are able to reach that first-class mentality. Are we being governed by the unknown laws, that way far treacherous to be crossed? Or, it will be a great thing if everybody was down under our steps? Deep in the core, we know who we are.

Well, it seemed that many of us (and me) did care about such infinite small things. Quite often is, where we are heading is totally contrary to what it should be. At such times, i often wish that there were a special key to answer "so what?". I believe, over the millennia, humans have evolved a subconcious ability to survive. Either to devise a better way to survive, or a "better" way to not to let the others to survive. Question asked - "what kind a person i am now?"

Been here almost 8 months, indeed one way to another has deepen my understanding about what should be done, rather than the opposite. I am still learning to recode my core inner self. (by simplicity - perhaps through my sophisticated thought). Pretty hard, especially if you were biologically impaired with those wrong thoughts throughout many facets of your life :-) After all, a simple step has been taken. By writing this. :-). It might be started as a vivid-blinking light first. Your part will make sure that the blinking part will be the unblinking one.

Pakcik said: "The fifth law of robotics was written as : 'a robot must know it is a robot'. I guess the fifth law of human conducts should be rephrased as: ' a human must know it is a human'. Probably by having this intact, more subconscious-awareness of why we are here will be fulfilled". :-)
